Check wind direction, speed, gusts, tides, and wave conditions before heading to a spot with Windy.app - Enhanced forecast. It combines local forecasts, historical weather information, interactive maps, weather-station readings, and spot reports for planning activities around changing conditions. Surfers, kitesurfers, windsurfers, sailors, fishermen, paragliders, and other outdoor users can use it before a trip or while monitoring a location.

Wind tools include a wind map, compass, wind meter, animated wind movement, gust details, and configurable push alerts. Forecasts can draw on GFS, ECMWF, WRF8, AROME, ICON, NAM, Open Skiron, Open WRF, and HRRR models, while the archive records wind, temperature, and atmospheric pressure from 2012 through 2021. NOAA local forecasts cover temperature, humidity, precipitation, and wind for up to 10 days at three-hour intervals, with metric and imperial unit options.

The app also provides wave and swell data, fishing forecasts, cloud-base and dewpoint readings, plus storm and hurricane maps. More than 30,000 spots are organized by type and area, and users can save favorites, exchange local reports in spot chats, and participate in the community. A home-screen weather widget provides quick access to conditions and forecast information.

Windy.app - Enhanced forecast is freeware for Android, and an additional paid version provides more features. Version 94.2.0 introduces Best Model vol. 2, handing forecasting from one model to the next when the first ends, so the best available model covers each period across ten days.
