8BitDo Firmware Updater2.5.2

Update the firmware on an 8BitDo controller from a Mac using 8BitDo Firmware Updater, the company’s official software for keeping controller software current. It automatically recognizes a connected 8BitDo controller and can retrieve the appropriate firmware update when the Mac is connected to the Internet. This gives users a direct way to perform firmware-update tasks without relying on general-purpose system management software.

Advanced mode provides a manual firmware-update option for users who need to select and apply an update themselves. For compatible models, the program also enters the controller’s upgrade mode automatically, reducing the controller-side work during an update. Automatic upgrade-mode entry does not apply to old or discontinued 8BitDo models, so those controllers may not receive that part of the experience.

The software is intended for Mac users who maintain 8BitDo controllers for gaming or everyday use and need the official updater at hand. It runs on macOS with Intel and Apple Silicon architecture support. The current version is 2.5.2, and the program is freeware in the System Tools category.
