On macOS, Adapter converts video, audio, and image files into selected formats, giving people one place to prepare media for different uses. Its FFmpeg-powered backend performs the conversions, while VLC-rendered previews let you inspect the result before committing to it. Two VLC players appear side by side so you can compare the source with the proposed output, and a file-size estimate indicates how large the converted file should be.

The queue accepts groups of images, songs, or movies for batch processing, with output settings applied across the selection. Image jobs can use any width or height, standardize several pictures to one height, turn TIFF files into JPGs, and add watermarks. Audio and video can be trimmed by duration, and the result can be exported in the format chosen for the job.

It can compress WAV collections to MP3, transcode movies for iPhone, Android, or other devices, export to iTunes and iPhone, create animated GIFs, and make custom ringtones from songs. Basic conversions use an output-mode pop-up, while optional advanced panels expose more control for detailed workflows.

Adapter suits people managing personal media libraries, preparing device-compatible files, or processing batches, and the product is also available on Windows. The current 2.1.6 release supports Intel and Apple Silicon and is freeware; it is lightweight, places no limits or restrictions on conversion, and adds no watermarks to output.
