Adrafinil1.14.1

Keep a Mac awake only while an AI coding agent is actively working, even with the laptop lid fully closed. Adrafinil targets developers who need agents to continue long-running coding tasks without carrying an open, unlocked screen, and lets the computer return to sleep as soon as the final session ends.

A single click connects it to agent hook systems including Claude Code, Codex, Hermes, and other compatible agents. Each new turn acquires a sleep-prevention assertion, idle time releases it, and overlapping sessions are reference-counted so sleep becomes available when the last active session finishes. The hold follows agent activity rather than an open window, allowing a paused agent at its prompt to let the Mac sleep normally, while work continues with the lid shut. Closing the lid also locks the Mac, and a chime confirms that an active hold is keeping it awake.

Adrafinil can show the number of held sessions, closed-lid status, and temperature, then report what happened when the laptop is opened again. It is intended for AI-assisted development in cafés, during travel, or overnight, where keeping a screen open would be inconvenient or expose an unlocked machine.

Version 1.14.1 runs on macOS 26 Tahoe or later with Intel or Apple Silicon processors. This System Tools utility is freeware and open source under the MIT license.
