AICHE Desktop

AICHE Desktop is a commercial voice-to-text application for Linux. It lets users dictate text wherever they can type, including terminals, code editors, browsers, chat applications, email, and documents. It is suited to developers and other Linux users who want to enter text by speaking instead of typing.

A system-wide hotkey starts dictation in the currently active application. Users press the hotkey, speak naturally, and release it to insert text at the cursor. Smart Insert can paste the result automatically, while optional Auto-Send can press Enter after insertion. AICHE can remove filler words, correct grammar and punctuation, and adapt to specialized terms through its Personal Dictionary, including names, acronyms, and codebase vocabulary.

Cloud transcription supports 99 languages, and downloadable local speech models support fully offline transcription in 25 languages. The application also supports meeting recordings, either through automatic recording of supported calls or recordings started manually. Auto-record can detect calls in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Slack, and Webex, with permission required before system audio is captured. Recordings can be transcribed and organized with separated speakers, summaries, key points, decisions, action items, searchable notes, tags, and device filters. Existing audio or video files can also be uploaded, and results can be exported as text, Markdown, PDF, SRT, or WebVTT.

AICHE includes search across notes and meetings by meaning, time, device, tag, or content type, along with questions answered from the contents of the library. As a Developer Tools application, it can be used with environments and services such as Cursor, VS Code, GitHub, Linear, ChatGPT, Claude, Slack, Discord, Gmail, and Notion.
