DIY Layout Creator covers PCB, stripboard or vero-board, perf-board, point-to-point wiring, guitar diagrams, and custom faceplates through a WYSIWYG, drag-and-drop interface.

Its built-in component library supports precise placement, while customization options help document designs in a readable form. Guitar builders can inspect wiring diagrams with dedicated analysis and debugging functions, making it easier to troubleshoot pickups, switches, and controls. Projects can also be shared through the integrated Cloud feature.

DIYLC suits electronics hobbyists, guitar pedal builders, musicians working on guitar or synth circuits, audio enthusiasts, HAM users, and anyone prototyping or documenting a DIY build. An extensible API lets developers add plug-ins and new components, and the project provides wiki documentation for users and developers.

The Linux release is open-source and runs locally on a system with Java JRE or JDK 21 or newer. Version 4.39.0 upgrades the Mac builds to Temurin 17 and changes their rendering engine from OpenGL to Metal, while selecting Print now starts printing immediately before print preferences are chosen.
