About

Anbox Cloud Appliance is a commercial developer tool for Linux that provides a small-scale version of Canonical’s Anbox Cloud. It is designed for rapid prototyping of Android-in-the-cloud solutions. The appliance gives corporate innovation labs and startups a development sandbox for exploring mobile cloud computing ideas.

The appliance includes a developer-oriented command-line interface and a web interface for managing and operating Android cloud applications. Developers can upload Android applications, configure and virtualize Android devices, and stream graphical output in real time. That output can be accessed from web or mobile clients. These capabilities support use cases such as game streaming, cloud-based mobile application management, mobile device virtualization, and mobile application testing.

As a developer-tools product, Anbox Cloud Appliance is intended for teams building and evaluating Android experiences in a cloud environment rather than for general desktop application use. Its small-scale scope makes it suited to lab work, prototypes, and early-stage development activities. Use of the appliance requires a valid Ubuntu Pro subscription, which is a separate requirement from the product’s commercial license.

MirrorNest lists Anbox Cloud Appliance for the Linux platform and links directly to the official release instead of hosting a mirrored copy. Installation instructions are available at https://anbox-cloud.io/docs/install-appliance. Information about Ubuntu Pro is available at https://ubuntu.com/pro.
