ALCOM gives VRChat creators a graphical way to manage packages through vrc-get, allowing them to use its capabilities without working in a command-line interface. It serves as an open-source alternative to VRChat Package Manager and VRChat Creator Companion. Packages can be installed concurrently, while updates are designed to complete quickly, often within seconds. When a package provides one, ALCOM opens its changelog directly so users can see what changed without searching elsewhere.

ALCOM uses the same VCC settings file wherever possible, keeping projects, repositories, and other shared preferences synchronized. VCC users can begin using it without migration work, leave VCC installed, and use both applications without conflicts. The interface includes English, Japanese, French, German, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, with more languages being added.

ALCOM is a cross-platform application for Windows, macOS, and Linux, while the 1.1.8 macOS release supports Intel and Apple Silicon. It is distributed as freeware and is built as an open-source project alongside vrc-get, with contributions from many developers. ALCOM is the application’s complete name rather than an acronym, though it originated from “Alternative (VRChat) Companion,” a description of its purpose.
