AloxBook

AloxBook is a personal finance application for Windows computers. It uses double-entry bookkeeping to organize financial records on the desktop. It is intended for people who want to manage personal finances using structured accounting rather than a simple list of income and expenses.

The application supports a hierarchical account tree for arranging accounts in related levels. CSV import can be handled through configurable profiles, which allows imported files to be matched to the application's expected structure. Transaction templates provide a way to prepare recurring or commonly used transaction details.

AloxBook includes period closing and carry-forward functions for moving accounting information between periods. Its interface supports English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian, with language switching available while the application is running. Password protection is optional, so users can choose whether to protect a book with a password.

When a password is configured, SQLCipher encrypts the book using AES-256. Without a password, the book remains an unencrypted SQLite database, and forgotten passwords cannot be recovered. MirrorNest links directly to the official AloxBook release instead of hosting a mirrored copy, while the software's license is unknown.
