ShareX22.2.0

Press a configured hotkey in ShareX to capture any selected area of the Windows desktop as an image, turning a moment on screen into a file or shareable result. The same quick workflow can record screen activity, making it useful for demonstrating software, documenting a problem, or explaining a procedure. After capturing, users can annotate the result, crop it, add shapes or text, and apply other editing steps before saving or sending it.

Its hotkey system lets users assign different actions to particular keys, while task settings can automate steps such as processing a capture, copying its link, or sending it to a selected destination. These capabilities suit support staff, developers, educators, designers, and anyone who regularly needs to communicate what is visible on a screen.

ShareX is published by ShareX as open-source System Tools software for Windows, with version 22.2.0 identified as the current release. It is especially useful when a full desktop screenshot is too broad, a short recording explains more than written instructions, or an existing file must be shared quickly. The program’s combination of instant region capture, recording, editing, and uploads distinguishes it from utilities limited to saving screenshots locally.
