Amore lets developers publish macOS applications outside Apple’s App Store by coordinating the work required to prepare and deliver each release. Its distribution workflow combines Sparkle-based over-the-air updates, code signing, notarization, and DMG creation. It also supports selling app licenses, covering a distribution need that would otherwise require a separate payment and licensing system.

The amore release command compresses the usual release sequence into roughly two minutes, including signing the app, submitting it for notarization, and publishing the update. Amore handles Sparkle’s update signing and appcast generation, so developers do not have to create EdDSA keys, hand-edit update XML, or separately arrange hosting and CDN delivery. The resulting workflow lets developers ship directly to customers without App Store review or Apple’s 30% commission.

Amore is aimed at Mac developers who want control over distribution for independently shipped apps, commercial products, and updates delivered directly to existing users. It is especially useful when a team wants a repeatable release process instead of manually creating certificates, signing bundles, building DMGs, polling notarization, and stapling tickets.
