AndroidTool captures screenshots and screen video from connected Android devices, then saves the results for documentation, demonstrations, or development work. Its recording output includes both MP4 video and animated GIF files, with GIFs suitable for inserting into Google Docs or email. It also sideloads APK files without the Play Store and installs applications on iOS and Android devices.

A single action can capture a screenshot from one connected device or from every connected device at once, and Command-Shift-S provides a keyboard shortcut for screenshots. The same one-click workflow applies to recordings and app deployment across all devices connected to the computer. Developers can place custom Bash shell scripts in the scripts folder and run them against one selected device or every connected device, using the included example as a model for selecting a target. AndroidTool performs these Android and iOS tasks without an Android or iOS SDK.

It is aimed particularly at Android designers and developers who need quick device captures, test-app deployment, or repeatable device actions. Android features are supported on macOS 10.9 Mavericks, while iOS features are supported on macOS 10.10 Yosemite; Android screen recording requires Android 4.4 or newer, and screenshots require Android 4.3 or newer, although older devices may also work. Version 1.66 is a System Tools program for Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, distributed as freeware.
