ANONguard00.00.022

ANONguard hides an Android smartphone’s IP address while it accesses the Internet, helping users keep their online connections anonymous. It is aimed at people who want privacy when browsing from a phone, particularly when exposing a device’s unique network address would reveal their connection to visited services, providers, or observers.

The app concentrates on connection anonymisation rather than adding unrelated browsing functions. The AN.ON approach associated with JAP sends connections through intermediate mix servers, where traffic from many users is combined so that outsiders, other participants, and even the anonymisation service operator cannot identify which connections belong to a particular user.

These mixes are generally operated by independent organisations that commit not to retain connection logs or exchange such data with other mix operators. JAP can show users the identities and number of organisations in a mix cascade, giving the service’s privacy structure more visibility than a simple IP-hiding feature.

ANONguard runs on Android 5.0 and later and uses a Universal architecture, making it suitable for compatible smartphone installations across supported device variants. It is released as open-source software, and the current version is 00.00.022.
