Capture a thought, quick calculation, or passing task in Antinote and let it serve as a temporary workspace rather than a permanent archive. Notes can be set to delete themselves, while swipe navigation and a jump-to-front command keep short-lived material easy to reach. The editor uses plain text by stripping formatting and indents from pasted content, and a keyword can turn lines into checkable list items.

Links shrink automatically to useful endings and can be expanded or edited, with Command-Return opening them. Descriptive math handles calculations in context, and built-in conversion covers distances, weights, currencies, and cryptocurrencies. Variables let you create custom calculators in seconds, while Sum, Average, and Count functions handle numbers and can count items, lines, words, and reading ease; search is included as well.

Dragging in an image extracts its text, and copied content can be pasted automatically without switching applications. Antinote also provides an instant stopwatch, countdown, and Pomodoro timer, then sends selected material to Apple Notes, Obsidian, or Bear or exports it as a TXT file. Option- A opens it at any time, with Dock, menu bar, and dropdown modes, pin-to-top behavior, and display over fullscreen apps.

Fourteen themes, native translucency, grid paper, custom shortcuts, and custom keywords support personal workflows; the Theme Maker and community themes on GitHub extend that customization. Antinote 2.1.3 runs on macOS 14 Sonoma or later for Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, is freeware, and has an iPhone and iPad beta announced as forthcoming.
