Drop an iOS .ipa into AppBox, optionally add tester email addresses, and click Upload IPA to receive a short installation link. It deploys Development, Ad-Hoc, and In-house (Enterprise) builds directly to devices while storing them in your own Dropbox account. Testers open the link in Safari on an iPhone or iPad and tap install, or scan a QR code to install immediately.

AppBox keeps every uploaded build and lets you reuse one short URL for an app, so testers can revisit earlier builds from the same installation page. Chunked uploads handle builds of any size and restart automatically after a network interruption, while links remain active until their files are deleted from Dropbox; sharing has no device or per-install limits. You can send links by email with a personal message, publish completion notifications to Slack, Microsoft Teams, or Google Chat, and use one-click actions for Finder and Dropbox.

A build view provides full details and QR codes, while separate tabs organize upload, email, webhook, and CLI settings with in-place help. The appboxcli command-line tool and official Fastlane plugin automate uploads from a terminal or CI system, using the same Dropbox session as the desktop app and supporting build listing and deletion. AppBox is aimed at iOS developers distributing test builds to internal teams, clients, or external testers.

Version 4.0 was rebuilt in Swift and SwiftUI around a shared core for the app and command-line tool, with a native macOS interface that follows system appearance. It requires macOS 15 Sequoia or later, supports Intel and Apple silicon, and is offered as freeware.
