AriaX manages aria2 downloads from a native Apple interface, giving Mac users a way to add, monitor, and control transfers without working in a terminal. Its full edition includes a preconfigured aria2 engine, so the application can begin handling downloads with no manual engine configuration.

Built with SwiftUI, AriaX combines a responsive macOS presentation with aria2’s established transfer engine. It can control downloads stored locally or operate as a JSON-RPC client for an aria2 service running on a NAS or another server. A Safari extension sends links to AriaX from the browser, while the ariax:// URL scheme lets compatible third-party applications create download tasks. The interface is localized in more than ten languages, including English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, German, and French.

AriaX suits Mac users who want browser-assisted downloads, as well as people managing transfers on network storage or a remote machine. AriaX Lite is a lightweight remote controller for users who already have an aria2 service running elsewhere, while the full edition supplies its own engine; the product also targets Apple devices including macOS and iOS.

The current release is version 1.0.7 and requires macOS 14 Sonoma or newer on either Intel or Apple Silicon. AriaX is freeware; its aria2 core and Aria2Helper component use the GNU GPLv2, while the included AriaNg web interface uses the MIT License.
