Avash

Avash is an open-source Windows application for managing several types of remote connections in one native interface. It brings together SSH terminals, Windows Remote Desktop (RDP) sessions, VNC desktops, serial consoles, and SFTP file transfers. It is intended for users who need to work with different remote systems without switching between separate tools.

For SSH, Avash reads and writes the existing ~/.ssh/config file directly. It stores passwords in the Windows system credential store rather than keeping them in the application. SSH and RDP host keys are verified before credentials are sent. During an RDP session, a local folder can be shared as a drive on the remote desktop.

Avash can import saved sessions from PuTTY and MobaXterm. It is built with Tauri 2 and Rust, and it requires the WebView2 runtime, which is shipped with Windows 10 and Windows 11. These characteristics place it in the Windows remote-access and administration software category while supporting terminals, graphical desktops, serial connections, and file transfers in the same application.
