Let a young child tap through a pretend phone conversation that produces sounds and a response, turning solo play into practice. Baby Phone is designed as a phone-like activity for little ones, rather than a service that connects them with a parent or another real family member. Its simulated exchange gives children a simple way to explore calling and listening in a family setting. The central interaction is making sounds and hearing a reply, not placing real calls or sending messages.

Families can use it as a child-focused pretend-play exercise when a child wants to practice using a phone. The project remains in an early stage of development, with proposed work including recordings from loved ones so children could hear familiar family voices. Another planned behavior would make the app answer through the microphone only after a period of silence, while interaction with controls such as the dial pad and mute button is also being considered.

Baby Phone 1.3.0 runs on Android 8.0 or later and uses a Universal architecture. It is open-source software in the Communication category. The target SDK has also been raised to 34, and people who want to contribute another translation can join the project on Weblate.
