Baluchon

Baluchon is an open-source Android application for managing shared expenses among friends or family during vacations, weekends, and other group trips. It is intended for groups that need to track who paid, who participated in each cost, and how the final amounts should be settled. A trip can organize participants into families when that grouping is useful.

Each participant can have an adjustable share weight, such as a normal share of 1 or a half share for a child, and the weight can be changed for individual expenses. Expenses can be named and dated, assigned to one or more payers, and entered with simple calculations such as 12+8. For every expense, users can specify exactly which participants are concerned. Baluchon shows each person's or family's balance, the total trip cost per person, and a minimal list of reimbursements.

Users can record an actual transfer between two people when settling up. Multiple currencies are supported through a custom exchange rate set for each expense. The complete summary can be exported as a PDF, while JSON export allows expenses to be shared between devices and merged from several participants. Participants can be imported from contacts, and a trip can be duplicated with its participants and families for a recurring trip with the same group.
