Drop PDF files into watched hot folders, and BatchOutput PDF sends them to the printer automatically while you continue working. It replaces the repetitive process of opening and printing documents individually with background batch output on Mac. Users can create separate hot folders for defined settings, such as a color printer with Tabloid paper at 100% or a black-and-white printer using A4 with shrink-to-fit.

The app also supports print presets, custom page slugs built from variable tokens, and a Manual mode for printing PDFs in a specific order. After processing, files can be moved into success or error folders, while a History view records everything that has been printed. These controls make it useful for production desks, offices, and anyone handling recurring PDF print queues.

BatchOutput PDF 3.1.8 runs on macOS 10.13 through 27.x with native Intel and Apple Silicon support. Earlier BatchOutput PDF 2 supports macOS 10.9–13 and is Silicon compatible, but macOS 14 and later require an upgrade to version 3 or BatchOutput PDF Server 3. The software is classified as freeware and also has a free 30-day trial; App Store editions are purchased separately.

Version 3 introduced variable-token page slugs and Manual mode ordering, with further features and improvements included through free updates.
