bb gives you an IDE for running coding agents, assigning them work, and coordinating their activity in one workspace. It can control, customize, and automate its own behavior, providing a foundation for building a software factory around your preferred workflows. Since it operates locally on your machine, work remains available while you are away and when you return.

Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Pi, OpenCode, Grok, omp, and Hermes can all run inside bb, with separate threads for individual tasks and the ability for one agent to start and manage another. Each agent uses the subscription you already have with its provider, which bills you directly rather than through bb. Almost anything in the interface can be changed with a single prompt; asking for a task tracker, for example, creates a sidebar panel, a bb tasks command, and an agent skill for using it.

GitHub integration, agent memory, scheduled jobs, and remote access are implemented as plugins that can be adapted alongside your own additions. The shared CLI lets shell scripts, cron jobs, or Hermes Agent and OpenClaw bots on Telegram, Signal, or Slack start work and place a waiting thread in the sidebar. bb is freeware and MIT-licensed, allowing you to fork it, modify its agents, tools, and interface, and deploy your own build across an organization.

The current 0.43.3 release requires macOS 13 Ventura or later and runs on Apple Silicon Macs using the arm64 architecture.
