Beamer4.3.7

Drag a video into Beamer to send it from your Mac to an Apple TV, Chromecast, or a compatible television and start playback on the larger screen. It handles conversion and streaming itself, so movies can be watched without AirDrop or a separate conversion workflow. Beamer plays major and less common formats, including MOV, MKV, AVI, MP4, FLV, F4V, TS, MTS, M2T, M2TS, and video using HEVC, H.264, H.265, VP8, or VP9 encoding. Subtitles can be text-based, bitmap-based, embedded in the video, or supplied as external files, with support for multiple languages and remote-control playback.

The app provides native streaming designed to avoid glitches, clicks, and pops, while surround-sound enhancement adds fuller audio on supported setups. Beamer 4 introduced a refreshed interface, faster loading, smoother streaming, improved performance, better subtitle detection and synchronization, custom playlists and queues, and preference-based viewing suggestions. It also supports 4K Ultra HD and HDR through Chromecast Ultra, along with Apple TV, tvOS 16, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, and television devices using Google Cast or AirPlay.

Beamer suits people who keep movies on a Mac but want to watch them in a living room, including multilingual households that rely on subtitle files. It runs on MacOS with Intel and Apple Silicon hardware and belongs to the Video & Media Players category. The current version is 4.3.7, and the software is freeware; a Universal License option is also presented.
