Press Command-Tab to open BetterCmdTab’s native replacement for the standard app switcher and choose an active window directly. Unlike an app-only switcher, it shows every window with live previews, helping you distinguish documents and other windows at a glance. Fuzzy search can find and launch applications or other items, while window cycling keeps keyboard-driven navigation quick.

The switcher can appear as a grid, list, or preview layout, with badges indicating window status and currently playing audio. It covers windows across every Space and display, and also provides controls for tiling and moving windows. It suits multitaskers, developers, and anyone working across many documents, monitors, or virtual desktops.

Every preference is stored in a plain JSON file that can be diffed, versioned, and kept in dotfiles. Saving the file applies changes without restarting the switcher, while changing an option in the app writes the updated value back; underlined values can be clicked to edit.
