Bike1.22.2

Bike lets you capture ideas, turn them into lists, and develop notes or full documents in an outline. It opens and scrolls quickly, resizes windows promptly, and handles large projects without slowing down your Mac. Writers, planners, researchers, and anyone collecting ideas can use it as the main workspace for a project or as a companion for quick notes.

Its rich-text editor combines precise formatting with an outline structure, so text can remain readable while its hierarchy stays visible. Row types add meaning to an outline through headings, ordered lists, task lists, and other structures, while live word counts and text statistics appear in the status bar. Full-screen, typewriter, and focus modes provide distraction-free writing, and the focus-heading view supports rapid keyboard navigation.

A navigation bar supplies back and forward controls and a breadcrumb trail, with additional inline navigation buttons inside the document. Deep links remain valid when an outline is renamed or moved, making it practical to connect specific sections to other work. Bike can print outlines and create Quick Look previews and Finder thumbnails. Its open formats include HTML-based .bike files that can be viewed in a browser, along with .opml and .txt files.

Scripts and shortcuts can control Bike and connect it with other applications. Version 1.22.2,196 is freeware for Intel and Apple Silicon Macs; the current requirement is macOS 12 Monterey or later, while the developer describes support for macOS 11 or later.
