Generate two-channel binaural sessions for relaxation, focus, or sleep, with Binaural Beat combining precise tones and ambient sound in one Android app. It sends slightly different frequencies to the left and right ears so the brain perceives a third beat equal to their difference, making headphones essential for the effect. The app is intended for personal exploration of binaural audio, not as a medical treatment.

Its Simple audio engine offers a lightweight tone generator with sliders for the base frequency and beat frequency. For more structured listening, the classic SBaGen engine by Jim Peters includes 58 preset sequences spanning brainwave states, focus levels, chakra progressions, and other themes. An independent background layer has its own volume control and can mix in on-the-fly pink or brown noise, or looping river and train recordings, beneath the beats.

The clean, modern interface suits quiet relaxation, concentration sessions, bedtime listening, and experimentation with different audio patterns. This 2026 revival preserves the genuine SBaGen engine on a modern stack, following an older project that brought SBaGen to native Android through OpenSL ES. Version 1.1 adds a custom brain-and-sine-waves app icon.

Binaural Beat runs on Android 8.0 or later and supports arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 architectures. It is released under the GNU GPL v2, builds on Jim Peters’s GPLv2 SBaGen, and includes freely licensed Creative Commons audio samples with attribution in CREDITS.
