Blankie2.0.2

Blankie lets you layer ambient sounds such as rain, waves, wind, white noise, piano, fireplace, boat sounds, and lo-fi beats into custom soundscapes for sleeping, focusing, working, or relaxing. Its mixer includes 24 built-in sounds, individual volume controls, support for adding your own sounds, and spatial placement on a draggable map rendered binaurally through headphones. Save multiple mixes as presets, mark favorites to keep them prominent, and use Quick Mix alongside the full sound grid.

On macOS, Blankie runs from the menu bar, where you can start, stop, and adjust playback while hiding the Dock icon and keeping the app in the background. Presets can have their own accent colors, album or background artwork, and looping lock-screen artwork, while a sleep timer fades the sound down after a chosen period. Playback also responds to Control Center, headphones, and media keys.

Blankie extends favorites, sounds, and simple now-playing controls to iPhone, iPad, and CarPlay, making it useful at home, at work, during rest, or on the road. It supports 12 languages, and Apple Intelligence can suggest preset names and icons where that on-device model is available. The app works offline, collects no personal information, and includes no ads, subscriptions, accounts, or tracking.

Blankie is freeware and open-source, with community contributions welcomed through GitHub. Version 2.0.2 requires macOS 26 Tahoe or later, supports Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, and requires Homebrew.
