Bluesnooze1.2

When your Mac goes to sleep, Bluesnooze switches Bluetooth off so it cannot connect to paired headphones, speakers, or other accessories. When the Mac wakes, it turns Bluetooth back on automatically, preventing a sleeping computer from interrupting audio playing through a phone. This is especially useful for people who pair the same Bluetooth equipment with both devices and experience unexpected connections while the Mac is idle.

Bluesnooze is a simple macOS System Tools utility that toggles Bluetooth power as the computer sleeps and wakes. It controls Bluetooth globally rather than disconnecting selected devices, and selectively managing individual accessories would require a substantial rewrite that the project does not provide. A menu-bar icon indicates the app is running; a terminal command can hide or restore that icon, with the change taking effect after the next relaunch.

Version 1.2 runs on macOS 12 Monterey or later and supports both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. It is freeware, and its use of a private API means it is not distributed through the App Store, although the release version is notarized by Apple. The app is incompatible with the “Allow your Apple Watch to unlock your Mac” feature. Developers who want to contribute can create an account on GitHub for the odlp/bluesnooze project.
