BookWyrm

BookWyrm is an open-source Android client for BookWyrm, a federated social network centered on books and reading. It is intended for people who want to track their reading, discuss books, write reviews, and discover what to read next from a mobile device.

The application presents BookWyrm through a webview rather than providing a separate native interface. BookWyrm links can be opened with the app, including links to user profiles, so users can view those profiles from their own BookWyrm instance and follow people more easily.

When content is opened on another BookWyrm instance, the app can adjust the back button to make it easier to return to the home timeline on the user’s own instance. It also supports searching for books by scanning their ISBN, regardless of which BookWyrm instance is being used. The ISBN scanning feature is built with the zxing-android-embedded library.

BookWyrm is not an official BookWyrm client. It is distributed for Android in the Reading & Writing category under an open-source license. MirrorNest mirrors the official build directly on its own storage and scans it for malware before publishing.
