Brave Origin Beta1.98.47.0

Brave Origin Beta gives Mac users a privacy-focused way to browse the web in the Internet & Browsers category. Its minimalist design lets users manage or completely remove features included in the free version of Brave, addressing the desire for a less crowded browser.

You can run Origin as a standalone Brave browser with no extra features, or use it to upgrade the existing Brave app on your device and switch individual features on or off. Version 1.98.51.0 is a stable preview that brings improvements and updates migrated from the Nightly channel, showcasing newer changes while remaining suitable for daily use.

The current release runs on macOS 13 Ventura or later and uses Apple Silicon arm64 architecture. Origin Beta also has desktop releases for Linux and Windows, while some Linux distributions already provide similar feature-reduced Brave versions. It suits privacy-conscious users who want everyday browsing with a pared-back feature set rather than Brave’s richer default experience.

Brave Origin Beta is freeware on macOS. The broader Origin offering can provide a purchase ID that activates across devices and platforms in standalone mode, upgrade mode, or both, with no limit on the number of activations. Brave makes Origin free for all Linux users to provide a consistent experience across distributions, while the existing Brave browser remains free and fully supported for people who prefer its full feature set; the company also presents this model as a way to support publishers and creators while building a sustainable business.
