Build Setting Extractor1.4.8

Build Setting Extractor pulls an Xcode project’s build settings into xcconfig build configuration files without modifying the original project. To use it, drag an .xcodeproj file onto the app window, choose a destination folder, and adjust generation options from Preferences… in the app menu. For the project itself and each target, it creates one xcconfig file for every build configuration, along with a shared file containing that target’s shared settings.

The generated files include explanations for build settings gathered from Xcode, and Preferences can hide those comments when a more compact result is preferred. This makes the utility useful when moving settings out of an Xcode project file into xcconfig files, as well as when inspecting project settings without risking accidental changes. It performs a one-time extraction rather than updating existing xcconfig files, does not move shared target settings up to the project level, and leaves the source project untouched.

Build Setting Extractor is freeware for macOS and supports Intel and Apple Silicon Macs; current version 1.4.8 is intended for Mac users working with Xcode projects. This release adds extraction support for Xcode 15.3- and Xcode 16.0-compatible project files and ensures generated files end with a new line. Version 1.4.8 was tested on macOS 15.1.1 Sequoia with Apple Silicon and built using Xcode 16.2 on that system.
