Cadran1.3.12

Cadran places a live clock face directly on your desktop wallpaper, behind your icons, across every Space and connected display. It can also run in screen saver mode, providing an at-a-glance time display without widgets or open windows. Choose a preset background or transparent mode to retain your own wallpaper, then explore faces grouped into Numeric, Analog, Data, Abstract, Matrix, and Spectrum categories.

Supported faces can overlay live information such as weather, the date, battery status, and moon phase, with weather data supplied through Apple WeatherKit. Monochrome, gradient, and vivid accent palettes keep the display adaptable, while clock text is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Brazilian Portuguese. You can hide the seconds hand, hide the Dock icon, or apply both settings, and lightweight wallpaper compositing keeps energy use low as verified in Activity Monitor.

Cadran suits people who want a decorative desktop clock, quick status information across multiple monitors, or a screen saver with more character than a static image. Preferences remain on the Mac; the app uses no accounts or analytics SDKs, and weather faces optionally contact Apple WeatherKit while nothing else sends data elsewhere. It runs on macOS 14 Sonoma or later on both Intel and Apple Silicon systems.

Version 1.3.12 is freeware with an optional Pro unlock: the free tier provides six faces, four basic complications including the date and weather summary, and every face in screen saver mode. Pro adds 16 premium and future faces, all complications including weather, astronomy, and battery data, move-and-resize positioning, premium colors, Dynamic Sky, and per-monitor face and color assignments.
