Clarc lets you run Claude Code from a native macOS desktop interface instead of working directly in a shell. Its project-focused workspace combines streaming chat with repository switching, file browsing, Git status, permissions, terminal access, and notes for each project. The app runs the actual Claude Code CLI underneath, so existing CLAUDE.md files, skills, MCP servers, and slash commands continue to work.

Approval dialogs show the relevant diff before a tool runs and offer Allow, Allow Session, or Deny choices based on the action’s risk. Separate project windows can run at the same time, with tabs for switching and background streams that remain active; double-clicking can open a project in another window. Drag-and-drop attachments and smart paste handle images, file paths, URLs, and long text.

Developers and teammates who want Claude Code without learning terminal commands can use Clarc for coding sessions, repository review, and parallel project work. GitHub OAuth can configure SSH keys, allowing git clone to work through the app, while its inspector brings together a file tree, Git status, embedded terminal, and project memo pad.

Clarc 1.4.1 runs on macOS 15 Sequoia or later for both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, and requires the Claude Code CLI to be installed and authenticated. Building the current source tree requires Xcode with the Swift 6.2 or newer toolchain. It is offered as freeware under the Apache License 2.0.
