Clear SMS0.20.0

Clear SMS organizes SMS and MMS locally on an Android device, combining a privacy-focused inbox with finance tools for transactions, bills, and delivery updates. It works offline without servers, telemetry, analytics, trackers, Firebase, or Google Play Services, while supporting SMS and MMS sending and receiving as the default SMS app, including on dual-SIM devices.

Messages are sorted into Important, Promotional, Personal, OTP, and Unknown using transparent regex rules stored as editable, human-readable JSON, with over 390 community-maintained rules and a 715,000-entry sender-ID directory. Full-text search includes category and time filters, and heuristic scam flagging highlights potentially suspicious texts.

Scheduled messages, drafts, delivery reports, pinned conversations, and on-device image compression for MMS cover everyday messaging; blocked senders and keywords, a 30-day recycle bin, undo for deletion and archiving, and large copyable OTP notifications add control. OTP copying and deletion are configurable, and local backup and restore include messages and settings; network activity is limited to Android’s MMS transaction with the carrier.

Version 0.20.0 adds delayed sending that survives app closure, returning canceled text to the editor, along with message details, six issue fixes, and a smaller APK. It is open-source, supports Android 6.0+ on arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86, and offers Material You colors on Android 12+ plus light, dark, and system themes.
