ClipBook records every item you copy on a Mac in the background, then lets you find it in the clipboard history and reuse it when needed. Its history supports text, images, files and folders, links, colors, and emails, and pressing Return or double-clicking an entry pastes it directly into the active application. As a productivity app, it suits Mac users who frequently reuse snippets, links, files, or formatted text across different programs.

Command-C-C in another app appends copied text to the previous history item, while Control-V pastes history entries one at a time without opening the history window and advances to the next item after each paste. When an image or image file contains text, ClipBook can extract that text and place it on the macOS system clipboard. Multiple selected items can be pasted in selection order with Return, Shift-Return, Up, Down, Space, Tab, or no separator.

You can merge selected text items, including links, emails, and colors, into one entry, split multiline text into separate entries, and apply any of 78 text transformations. File entries open in the default application or another installed Mac application, and Command-C copies any history item back to the system clipboard instead of pasting it immediately. Retention can be set separately for different item types to one day, one week, one month, one year, or forever, while favorites and tagged entries can remain permanently. These controls also help resolve formatting inconsistencies caused by copying between websites, PDFs, IDEs, and other sources.

ClipBook is freeware for macOS 13 Ventura or later and supports both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. In Settings → History, enabling Paste on single click lets a click immediately paste the selected item into the active application.
