CodeBolt lets MacOS developers run built-in or custom AI coding agents against real software projects. It functions as a software foundry, coordinating tools, environments, multiple agents, peer review, and verification loops so software can be built, shipped, and maintained with less manual supervision. The platform addresses problems such as lost context, failed tasks, uncoordinated agents, and uncertain code quality by adding memory, checkpoints, retries, recovery, and evidence around agent work.

Work can begin in the CLI, the desktop editor, or the browser. Its full coding workspace brings together an editor, terminal, files, Git, browser, documentation, agent and plugin panels, local runtime controls, and more than 500 tools surfaced when needed. In the browser, users can create managed workspaces, run agents in cloud sandboxes, and share persistent state with a team. The Agent SDK, Plugin SDK, and Client SDK let developers create custom agents, products, plugins, and internal tools on top of the platform.

Queues, handoffs, shared state, and multi-environment coordination allow work to span local machines, cloud systems, and sandboxes. Scoped permissions, sandboxing, and blast-radius controls help limit what an agent can access, while review gates, checks, and second-agent evaluation test its results outside the agent itself. CodeBolt is a Developer Tools product for MacOS, distributed as freeware; version 1.1.26 supports Apple Silicon (arm64).
