CodeEdit0.3.6

CodeEdit gives developers a lightweight place to write and revise source code on a Mac. It supports projects written in any programming language, including work outside Apple-platform development. Rather than replacing Xcode, it supplements Apple’s IDE for projects that are not intended to run on Apple platforms.

Built entirely in Swift, CodeEdit uses a native architecture designed to make effective use of Mac hardware while supporting efficient, reliable editing. Its familiar, intuitive interface helps with everyday coding, and its integrated tools are intended to keep developers connected to the code they are writing. The editor is designed to remain lean while leaving room for users to tailor it to their own workflows. As an open-source project, it lets developers report problems through issues or propose changes by submitting pull requests.

CodeEdit is aimed at individual programmers and development teams working across languages or maintaining non-Apple projects. It is categorized as Developer Tools and runs on macOS 13 Ventura or later on Intel and Apple Silicon hardware. The current version is 0.3.6, and the product is identified as freeware and described by its developers as free forever.
