Codexia gives developers a desktop workspace for running Codex CLI and Claude Code sessions, organizing agent tasks, and inspecting their work in one place. Its command center also accepts external agents that speak the Agent Client Protocol (ACP), while sessions survive restarts and tool calls appear live in the conversation thread.

Projects can be opened with Git worktrees, a project file tree, an IDE-style editor, a prompt notepad, and a local web preview. A task scheduler handles recurring jobs, and remote control is available through a headless web server, including from iOS. One-click previews cover PDF, XLSX, and CSV files, while marketplaces provide MCP servers and agent skills; themes, accent colors, and a usage-analytics dashboard provide additional customization.

The workflow suits developers managing repeated coding tasks or coordinating several agents: add a project directory, enter a prompt to begin a session, and create scheduler jobs for recurring work. Claude Agent runs the locally installed Claude CLI through the Claude Agent SDK and uses its existing CLI authentication rather than signing in to claude.ai; Claude subscriptions count programmatic use against monthly Agent SDK credit at API rates, separate from interactive Claude Code limits, with unused credit not rolling over. Alternatively, ANTHROPIC_API_KEY bills usage to an Anthropic Console account and is recommended for heavy use, while Codexia records a one-time consent acknowledgement in ~/.codexia/cc-consent.json before the first Claude Agent prompt.
