Dashcam Viewer plays recordings from dashcams and action cameras while showing their associated GPS and G-force data on a Mac. It collects the files into a movie list and groups consecutive recordings into Trip Lists, making long journeys easier to review than hundreds of separate SD-card clips. Sudden changes in audio volume are identified so you can locate events such as collisions or car horns. Selected sections can be exported as short video files or images, and multiple recordings can be joined into one video.

During playback, a map traces the vehicle’s route while a dashboard presents position, speed, direction, and time, with additional GPS detail available from cameras that record advanced GPS data. Active 2D graphs plot measurements such as speed and distance across the trip, and clicking a point on a graph jumps to that moment in the footage. GPS information can be exported in multiple file formats and saved automatically with the video files, preserving the data when those files are uploaded. Custom geotags mark locations on a route; they appear on the map and in a list, and double-clicking one opens the corresponding point in the journey.

The software suits drivers investigating collisions, checking road incidents, reviewing trips, or locating a particular moment in stored footage. Dashcam Viewer requires macOS 12 Monterey or later and runs on Apple Silicon hardware using the arm64 architecture. Version 4.0.8 is freeware in the Video & Media Players category.
