Data Rescue 66.0.9

Data Rescue 6 scans Mac drives to locate and restore files that were accidentally deleted, lost after emptying the Trash, or affected by formatting, system crashes, or drives that no longer mount. It works with internal and external HDDs and SSDs, as well as SD cards, USB drives, Compact Flash media, and other storage devices.

Quick Scan and Deep Scan modes address different recovery situations, and a preview lets you inspect recoverable files before restoring them. The software supports documents such as PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OpenOffice, Quicken, QuickBooks, and AutoCAD; audio including WAV, MP3, AIFF, AAC/M4A/M4P/M4B, Logic, Finale, Maya, and ProTools files; and images such as WFM, GIMP, DPX, TIFF, PNG, GIF, Illustrator, EPS, and RAW formats including CRW, CR2, NEF, DCR, ORF, DNG, MOS, and SRF.

If a completed scan already exists, its results can be reopened to locate files, provided the original scanned drive is connected; only the most recent scan is saved. A Clone function can copy a drive showing possible hardware trouble or taking an excessive time to scan, while Create a Recovery Drive makes a bootable disk for recovering files from the startup drive.

Version 6.0.9 runs on macOS with Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. It is freeware, with new users receiving up to 1GB of free recovery, while unlimited recovery is offered for 30 days or one year; active subscriptions include patches and upgrades, and one license covers Macs and PCs.
