DevKnife brings JSON formatting, text comparison, JWT decoding, port scanning, and other recurring developer tasks into one native desktop app, reducing reliance on browser tabs, command-line scripts, and scattered utilities. It contains more than 10 tools, including a JSON editor with a collapsible tree view, JSONPath and JMESPath queries, and automatic repair for malformed data. Its HTTP workspace sends and inspects requests with headers, bodies, variables, and formatted responses, while its converter transforms JSON, YAML, TOML, XML, and CSV data locally.

Developers can look up public DNS records and check propagation through multiple resolvers worldwide, test regular expressions with live match highlighting and a built-in cheat sheet, and compare two text blocks in a clear side-by-side view. The JWT decoder displays each token’s header, payload, and signature, and the port scanner supports connectivity tests, service verification, and firewall checks. DevKnife also adds syntax-highlighted Quick Look previews for code, configuration, documentation, and data files across more than 30 file types.

The app suits developers and other technical users handling API, data, networking, and configuration work, especially when those tasks recur throughout the day. It works offline, collects no telemetry or analytics, and makes no background connections, while its native implementation avoids Electron and uses little memory.
