DiskCatalogMaker9.3.1

DiskCatalogMaker scans a mounted disk or folder and records its contents, letting you find files after the media has been put away. You can scan several discs in batch mode, and Roxio Toast Titanium can add a burning disc automatically. Its Finder-like interface supports printing catalogs, opening an item directly, revealing the original in Finder with Select Original, and previewing it through Quick Look.

Searches can use names and other file attributes, AND/OR Boolean expressions, duplicate-file detection across selected disks, and the Quick Search menu’s recent-search history. Spotlight can search through your catalogs, while the pie-chart view shows how disk space is distributed. Multiple catalogs can be open at once, and the database format is designed to store very large collections, with compression to reduce their disk-space use.

DiskCatalogMaker supports catalog data import from other cataloging programs and shared catalog-file access through an AppleShare file server using AFP. It also handles ZIP, StuffIt, RAR, 7-Zip, tar, gzip, bzip2, CompactPro, and LHA archive formats, supports long Unicode names and Asian languages, and is localized into 13 languages.

The current 9.3.1 release requires macOS 12 Monterey or later and runs natively on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. It is freeware, with a user-license edition and an upgrade path from the Toast 20-bundled version, making it useful for home media collections, archived work discs, and users who need to search offline storage from one organized record.
