Designed for game development with Unreal Engine and Unity, 3D production, and AI workflows, Diversion provides a modern alternative to Perforce, Git, and SVN. Teams can create branches, commit changes, and merge work concurrently, supporting thousands of writers, developers, and agents in demanding repositories. Partial and shallow checkouts let a contributor retrieve only selected paths and history, making work on a repository containing 50 million files practical from a laptop. Code, binaries, models, and media of any size can be versioned natively rather than handled through separate workarounds.

The software suits AAA game studios and teams in virtual production, AR/VR, architectural visualization, and other creative fields, with flexible controls for managing versioning costs and infrastructure overhead. Its collaboration model is also aimed at large monorepos and parallel AI-agent workflows, where conventional systems can become difficult to coordinate. Diversion protects project data through SOC 2-certified infrastructure.
