DNSMonitor1.3.0

DNSMonitor watches DNS traffic on a Mac, giving users visibility into the system’s DNS activity. It addresses the need to observe name-resolution traffic when investigating connectivity behavior or checking what DNS requests a system is making.

To use it, copy the DNSMonitor.app bundle into the /Applications directory; otherwise, an error appears because Apple requires its System Extension to be located there. After the extension is approved, it loads, and macOS requests separate permission for DNSMonitor to monitor DNS traffic. Selecting Allow grants the application permission to capture that DNS activity.

DNSMonitor suits Mac users who need a focused view of DNS behavior during system administration, troubleshooting, or routine monitoring. Its system-level extension distinguishes it from utilities that only inspect application settings or manually configured resolver data. The application runs on MacOS under the System Tools category and supports both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. Version 1.3.0 is freeware, so its DNS-monitoring function is available without a paid license.
