DrawAnywhere places a floating canvas over the content on screen, letting you draw, annotate, and highlight while the underlying app or presentation remains open. It suits video lessons, tutorials, presentations, and demonstrations where marks must appear directly on displayed material. The open-source Android software is categorized as Photo & Graphics and provides a freehand pen, rectangle, ellipse, laser pointer, pixel eraser, and stylus-button stroke erasing.

You get up to 50 undo and redo steps, plus an HSV wheel, 18 color presets, recent colors, hexadecimal entry, and controls for stroke width and opacity. Its infinite canvas supports panning and pinch-to-zoom, with no-lock, zoom-only, and full-lock modes shown in a HUD. Two-finger pinching zooms, double-tapping resets zoom, triple-tapping resets position, three-finger double-tapping toggles passthrough, and three-finger triple-tapping hides the canvas.

The toolbar can be horizontal or vertical, dragged anywhere after a long press, and set to dim after three seconds idle; a brush hover preview appears during drawing. You can hide the canvas, pass touches through to the app below, or disable finger drawing for stylus-only use, while settings can clear the canvas when hidden or keep it closed at startup. A Quick Settings tile toggles the service, and launching DrawAnywhere a second time closes it.

In version 2.3, dragging the toolbar to the screen bottom enters a dismiss zone marked by a red X circle and closes the app; laser fade timing now starts with the last stroke movement, keeping it bright while the pen is held down. It runs on Android 8.0+ across arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 architectures.
