Its canvas supports shapes, connectors, text, templates, and collaborative shared cursors for working through designs with a team.

The desktop app lets you save diagrams locally, while the related online tool can use storage you choose; the provider says it cannot access your data. Native integrations connect diagrams with other tools, and finished work can be embedded interactively in documents, wikis, or applications, or exported to SVG, PNG, and PDF while retaining an editable version. Files made as far back as 2005 can still be opened in the current application, and draw.io files can be opened and edited across platforms.
