Drawpile

Drawpile lets multiple people draw, sketch, paint, and animate together on the same canvas in real time. Its mobile edition is designed for phones and tablets, requires Android 11 or later, and uses the arm64-v8a architecture. Drawpile is open-source software intended primarily for pressure-sensitive pen input, while touch controls are also supported.

Collaborators can build artwork or animations together instead of passing files back and forth between separate drawing sessions. Timelapse creation records the drawing or animation process as a video, including a cropped area of the canvas when one is selected. The dppr project format adds autorecovery, time-travel editing, and project statistics, while project playback lets users review the work as it developed. Brush previews and brush names in the brushes dock make it easier to distinguish tools than thumbnail-only browsing.

The app suits artists, illustrators, animation teams, classrooms, and friends working on shared sketches from compatible phones or tablets. Version 2.3.1-beta.2 adds video export for animations and timelapses, support for Android 16, improved session resumption, and project playback. It remains compatible with Drawpile 2.3.0, allowing participants on that release to join sessions while newer clients provide the added capabilities. Drawpile is also available for Windows, macOS, Linux, and as a browser-based version that works across platforms, including iPads.
