Dropshare lets you drag a file or folder from your Mac, upload it to your chosen storage, and share the resulting link immediately. It handles screenshots, screen recordings, and other files, sending transfers directly to configured accounts and servers rather than storing them on Dropshare’s infrastructure in between.

You can add multiple destinations and route uploads to separate personal or work storage, including consumer cloud drives, S3-compatible object storage, image hosts, SFTP, FTP, SCP, and WebDAV. Beyond drag-and-drop, uploads can start from the share menu, services, or custom keyboard shortcuts, making Dropshare useful for quickly sharing project materials, support evidence, or finished files.

Screenshots can be captured and annotated with an external annotation app or Dropshare’s built-in tools for comments and blurred areas. Screen recording supports a selected region or the entire display, exporting 24 or 60 FPS video or an animated GIF with optional spoken voice, Mac audio, webcam footage, and visible keyboard shortcuts for creating screencasts.

Its GPT-5 nano integration analyzes screenshots and suggests descriptive filenames, with limited free daily use or support for your own OpenAI API key. Uploads can be encrypted on the Mac before transmission to object storage and supported protocol destinations, while iCloud synchronizes upload history, preferences, landing page settings, and connections across macOS and iOS devices. The current Productivity release is freeware version 6.15,6261 for macOS 12 Monterey or later on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
