Dropshelf1729

Dropshelf lets you drag files from Photos or another application onto an on-screen shelf, keep them available, and drag them onward when you are ready to place them elsewhere. It is designed as a drag-and-drop helper for people who frequently move files between applications or locations. Shelves can be repositioned anywhere on the screen by dragging their backgrounds, rather than remaining fixed in one spot.

The current beta is version 1729, freeware productivity software for macOS, and its universal binary runs on both Intel and Apple silicon processors. Shelves can be created at any screen edge, including the shared edges between multiple monitors, giving the app more flexible workspace support. The release also refreshes the visual design, adds an appearance that follows light and dark modes, and introduces redesigned application and menu bar icons. Dragging files in from Photos and other applications is more reliable after the included bug fixes.

This release requires macOS 10.15.7 or later and presents its interface only in English; additional languages were intended for a future update. Earlier release changes replaced use-limited trials with a 14-day period, while version 1729 removes trial mode from the beta. Dropshelf was sold for nine years, from 2012 through 2021, before being withdrawn from sale because the developer did not have time to complete the release process for a new update. Existing customers can still locate it in the purchased-apps section of the account used for their original purchase, and the developer can be contacted at [email protected].
