Emailchemy converts email stored in proprietary formats from older and current mail applications into portable standard formats or popular closed formats, giving users files suitable for importing, long-term archiving, database entry, forensic analysis, and eDiscovery. It is used to move mail between applications, preserve legacy archives, and prepare evidence for investigative or legal workflows.

Emailchemy 15.0 is freeware in the Productivity category for MacOS on Apple Silicon (arm64); its cross-platform edition also runs on Windows and Linux and can convert Windows mail on a Mac or Linux computer, and vice versa. Supported inputs include AOL for Mac v3+, AOL for Windows PFC, AOL Desktop for Mac, Claris Emailer, CompuServe Classic/MacCIM, Entourage databases, RGE and cache files, Outlook for Mac 8.x, 2001, 2011, 2015, 2016 and 2019 legacy formats, Outlook for Windows MSG, OST, PST and NST files, and Outlook Express for Mac, Windows and UNIX/Solaris. It also handles QuickMail Pro for Mac and Windows, Windows Mail through Windows 8, UNIX-style and mbox mailboxes, Outlook OLM, Apple Mail mbox folders, RFC-2822 MBOX and EML folders, CSV, IMAPdir/Binc IMAP maildir, and Maildir++/Courier IMAP maildir.

Its embedded IMAP server lets users import converted messages into nearly any other email application, while utilities split, sort, and merge archives and harvest addresses. Law-enforcement and forensic agencies rely on its conversion accuracy for demanding evidence work. Recent improvements add native Apple-Silicon support, advanced PST output with maximum-file-size and append controls, better Google Takeout compatibility, faster IMAP serving, and updated macOS Mail compatibility.

The application runs as a demo until unlocked with a valid registration key; demo conversions mask subject and sender fields, so testing an archive before purchasing the full version is important. At least 8GB of system RAM is recommended.
