Convert MKV files to MP4, HEVC to H.264, MOV to MP4, MXF to ProRes, or other video targets through ffWorks’ visual FFmpeg workflow. It also handles AV1 conversion, video compression, subtitle burning, batch encoding, and playback for people watching or listening to media on a Mac. The interface presents professional encoding controls without requiring command-line work, while still exposing codecs, filters, subtitles, metadata, batches, and professional formats for demanding jobs.

Create an unlimited number of drop zones, then assign different processing targets and drag source files onto them for repeatable batch work. Color controls cover exposure, contrast, saturation, gamma, vibrance, shadows, RGB adjustment, and black-and-white balance, with colorspace conversion and more than 80 Pro LUT presets. Cropping supports manual adjustments, automatic cropping, and black-border removal.

You can place unlimited image or movie overlays on a video, reposition and resize them, and use them for logos or picture-in-picture compositions. VMAF, PSNR, SSIM, and CAMBI measurements help assess the perceived quality of converted files using multiple video-quality algorithms. A bitrate analysis view shows data usage over time in bits per second, helping investigate compression, encoding consistency, file size, and playback issues.

The VideoThumbnail Contact Sheet Creator produces contact sheets for reviewing video collections. Beginners can start with the clean macOS interface, while experienced encoders can use the deeper controls and optional FFmpeg component. Version 5.4 is freeware for macOS on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
